Bio

Jenny started taking art seriously  after teaching English & Communication in a wide variety of places for years.
From 2002-4 she was at CPIT doing a Visual Arts course, focusing on printmaking, drawing & painting.
Together with other graduates of the course she set up ‘Brick Lane Studio’ for 5 years from 2005, at 132 Lichfield St (which is no more since the Christchurch earthquakes).

From  2010 she made art intermittently while teaching English part time,  finally retiring in 2015.
She now has an art space at home and time to work,  and lots of support from The Critique Group, Christchurch.

"I decided in 2009  to return to the immediacy of drawing and painting directly onto paper rather than making print images.  I enjoy pencil as well as pen and ink which seems to allow a more direct flow of images."

In early 2020 with Covid locking us all down Jenny and friend Marie decided to formalise some children's books they had been working on.  Our Backyard Books - a New Zealand children's book series was born.  (For details look under More - 2020)
